In a world where modern physics and chakra are seemingly irreconcilable, fifteen-year-old Haruno Sakura graduates as a first-grade genin with the year’s highest academic scores and is thrust into a world more complex and a lot less nice than she would have thought at first.
Such goes the tagline for the Naruto fan fiction story which I am currently writing: In Fire Forged.
Once, long ago, I started writing the precursor to In Fire Forged on a whim. That first story was horrible, and I dumped it about 130.000 words in without ever publishing anything. However, I found my thoughts kept returning to it, and the far-flung plot ideas I’d had unfolding in my head.
I decided that I would sit down and plan ahead and actually do this properly. I would fix this lore, and then I would set my story in this new and updated universe. So I sat down at my desk and started thinking. What emerged from that process was a much more sensible and coherent world, and an outline of a trilogy. Three volumes, of an estimated 3/4 million words total. That’s what I’m writing now.
This is, needless to say, a bit of an undertaking. But the muse has gripped me, and I am now irretrievably stuck on a collision path with this juggernaut wanting to be born.
This website is where I post progress updates on the story, as well as snippets of the universe lore I have built and continue to build. Beware that there may be spoilers for parts of the story that have already been released, as well as posts detailing parts of the world that we have not and might not ever see in the story. Posts containing story spoilers will, however, be marked as such.
